J-CERT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test)

The J-CERT is a globally recognized Japanese language proficiency test conducted by the Japan International Human Capital Development Organization. It is highly regarded not only for assessing language proficiency but also for its special focus on Japanese society and culture, which distinguishes it from other language examinations.

The J-CERT exam is divided into two main courses:

  • B-Course: Basic and pre-intermediate levels.
  • A-Course: Intermediate, pre-advanced, and advanced levels.

The test results are used to classify candidates into Scope Levels A and B. The exam consists of three main parts:

  • Characters, Grammar, and Vocabulary
  • Listening
  • Social Culture (Reading)

The exam is conducted five times annually in major cities across Nepal. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo, Japan.
